The fourth quarter of 2023 witnessed a high demand in tourism movement, with 3.6 million tourists arriving to Egypt, an increase of about 8% compared to the same period of 2022
The initiative only applies to hotels operating in Greater Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, the Red Sea, South Sinai, and the North Coast
According to the minister, the country recorded tourist arrivals of 1.3 million from 80 countries in October, an 8% increase year-on-year despite the escalating Israel-Palestine war
Issa pointed out that the government plans to promote Egypt as a tourist destination in various tourist markets through several promotional and marketing campaigns with tour organizers and relevant stakeholders
He highlighted the significant growth opportunities within Egypt's hotel sector, which will contribute to achieving the target of 400,000 hotel rooms by the end of 2028
